I've been thinking there's a distinct possibility he was dropped by Sony due to pressure from or deference to the current fascist government of Japan.

twitter "leftists" vary from some really strong organizers who i may personally disagree with but overall do the fucking work and this. There's no in-between anymore

  • This isn't the first time I've seen MGS fans being reactionary and driven entirely by vibes. I don't know the lore inside and out but my understanding is that Kojima is anti nuke, The Boss has anarchist leanings, and Snake literally fights for revolutionaries

I do get a little tired how people here treat metal gear solid series. Its points are basic with a shit ton of racism and sexism. Like, if you like it its fine, we all have our things. But it will always be weird to me has its treated as one of the most based series. I just will never be able to get the image out of my head of Kojima playing with this doll of Quiet with life like boobs. Though idk its been a while, maybe it wasnt him but I do remember that being on some official thing.

Like, idk it just gives me creep vibes how much people bend over backwards to wave off the blantent issues of the franchise like its not a big deal and god knows he likes to hide behind it. "No no its totally cool that we have this problem cause you see we have a totally valid narrative reason (please excuse the old man who we don't show naked who has a suit that does the same thing) and these games are just soooooooo good leftist games!"

    kril-drained

At least I've ran into a handfull of people who don't make excuses for that shit when talking about it. They're the real ones. No idea why more people can't be like that.

Yeah, I have infinitely more respect for someone who is willing to admit that they like a work that's problematic than someone who writes reams of text about how anyone who sees questionable elements is objectively wrong / media illiterate / a fun hater.

Maybe someday I'll write a Grand Master Post of all the problematic elements in things I like that I can link back to whenever someone gets super-hostile over my criticism of something they like.

    Literal twelve year olds.

I’ll never understand why these fake tough guys also want to be Regina George so badly.

Shit like this is why I wish in some better timeline Trump became the Broadway producer he dreamed about being. There's a real disconnect when one moment Trump is tweeting himself as Rambo blowing up Iran then the next spilling tea about Rosie.
