They’re gay. I just wish they’d come to terms with that, rather than projecting their internalized self-hatred on others.

Did their Grindr apps crash or something?

    Btw— yum

    Edit: lol, called it

Gay dating app Grindr goes down in Dallas during RNC's Trump-a-Palooza

I find articles like that to be hilarious but I can't help think maybe grindr themselves have a hand to play. They have existed for how many years now and they can't afford servers that don't crash bc of a relatively small gathering of people? I imagine the Super Bowl brings far more grindr users to where it occurs yet I don't hear about it crashing. Same with actual gay pride festivals. Still funny though.

Consider that maybe around 10-12% of the population has an attraction to the same sex (roughly lumping together bi, pan, and binary gay attractions is coarse, statistically, but bear with me here). During Pride gatherings, they still have outages. But they're easier to predict and fix because June is easy to plan around. It's a consistent date range with relatively predictable traffic.

Political conventions often only give maybe a month or two of notice, and are often localized to a single server region. Meaning that rather than that traffic being distributed across a large network, or renting extra servers for a month, it overloads a server that's operating in the 'off-season'.

Besides, I think that the people who are in charge of Grindr might not be feeling particularly charitable toward gay men who espouse and empower magat trash.

    Edit: Corrected statistic. Thanks

    Consider that maybe around 5-8%

Even the most conservative estimates consistently place it around 10-12% (and this is supported by decades of sociological research from around the world). And that’s the people who openly admit it. The actual number is likely far higher (speculation is 15-25%, but it’s only speculation), especially when you consider “incidental attraction“, which accounts for those who are only “sometimes attracted“ to the same sex. Aka Bi/demisexuals.

The real mistake is trying to reduce sexuality to a number or a statistic. That said, your estimation is way below the mark.

I suppose the real Takeaway here is that none of us really know what goes on behind the scenes…

Yesterday I made a comment about the ideological perversions of churches. I'm certain this story is related. There's no dating or mating occurring, but here the GOP has mostly undressed Hasan Piker. Per search, the GOP is significantly more religious than Democrats.
