The problem is a guy who thinks low teen pregnancy is a problem.

My wife and I are childfree by design. Another reason we're destined for the camps.
Complaining that women 19 and under have too few children is just beyond cruel. Which, thinking about it, is the point right?
Keep in mind that conservatives will complain about low fertility among teens with one breath, and shame 'slutty' teen mothers with the next breath. It's not that conservatives don't care about young women - it's that they actively hate them.
Parent here, wrap it the fuck up 'til you are ready or just be gay instead because this shit is true.
That is so gross. 15 year olds are CHILDREN. Ofc the Pedo Party has opinions on them that are based around sex...
Under a humane socio-economical system, having kids young should not hamper rest of the life. Under Capitalism it's just oppression.
I never thought "Under socialism, teens will be more open to having children" would be an argument that might appeal to conservatives.
Heaven forbid you have preferred pronouns but sure let's make more people have children before they're legal adults and have no agency to change anything
Here's an idea to raise the birth rate that won't hurt anyone. Make degree inflation a serious target of legal reform. Most people use their college degrees in jobs that don't require college degrees for the actual work duties involved. Employers just slowly raised the requirements over time.
One reason the birth rate is so low is that most people have to reach their 30s before they're in a position to reasonably afford children. It just takes far too long for people to get established in careers, while human biological clocks haven't changed. We should be doing everything we can as a society to raise the income of people in their twenties. That's how you can actually raise the birth rate.
For example, we could set minimum wage and tax rates based on the level of education employers require for a position. If employers really want to require college or graduate degrees for a position, they can pay higher minimum wages and payroll tax rates.
While this is true for many, it’s also not true for just as many. Pardon the play in words but, you have to be hungry to achieve. I say this from my comfortable desk job with a great salary. I had kids young 20, and a second at 23. I worked the shit jobs and had to struggle for a while, but I was motivated so I made it happen. Now my kids see a mother who did everything to foster their lives, as well as my own. I did it all myself and that feels so good. Don’t give up, stay hungry.
