Jfc that was...exactly how every single normie uses the internet and the reason llms are taking off with them.

If they knew of vpns and private DNS with adblock Linux and Firefox, the world would be great.

  • If this tech took off with normies, companies would react. They kind of already did with anti-adblock, loginwalls etc. Same as with encryption - the masses got e2e messengers after Snowden and here we are a decade later with Chat Control and other stuff.

    While I'm all for using ad-blockers, private DNS, and a VPN to preserve privacy, the business model of many websites would almost certainly change if everyone used them.

    A pleasure to read and fun to set up an own server. I run an agate server (written in Rust) on a Raspberry Pi B which is attached to my home router. Needs only about 1 Watt of power.

    (Not related in any manner to the Google AI stuff.)
