you're locked into keeping a line on the watch for the duration of the contract. if you find that you don't need cellular and cancel, the remaining cost of the watch comes due. it's better to buy outright than to finance with a carrier, unless that's the only way you can afford it.

Do you need cellular? Most people don't.
You'll be paying $360 in cell service for the watch over 2 years.
Or you can buy the non-cellular version at Walmart right now for $229.
If you never go anywhere without your phone, you don't need cellular.
Remember, TMO is in the business of selling wireless service. To get a device for free, they are going to get you to commit to 2+ years of wireless service.
Verizon & AT&T charge $10/mo. T-Mobile sounds like they are adding $5/mo for your “free” watch
