My cat has learned how to use the touch lamp next to my bedstand. Very often at 4am he will gradually make the light brighter and brighter because clearly 4am is treat time.

My cat waits patiently outside our door each morning so the first thing I hear is her desperate scream for food. She can open the door, she knows where we sleep, she has no problem barging in, and if I get out of the room before she gets there for any reason, she will instead ignore me and wait for my spouse to open the door.

If I put her food out while she's waiting, she won't eat unless I physically move her to it because I've broken the ritual of her greeting me in the morning and screaming at me while I make her breakfast and now she must try again.

Mine always recites one called "you might think there is food in the bowl, but I can clearly see parts of the bottom and therefore will likely starve to death if you do not put fresh kibbles in there at once"
