For everyone skeptical, we have a central "do not dial" scheme that you can add your phone number to and legally opt out of ever getting a telemarketing call that has worked very well.

Likewise we have "do not ring" notices people can self-apply on doors making it illegal for door-knockers to bother you that has also worked very well.

So this is just bureaucrats trying to extend that thinking to gambling ads on the internet... They mean well, but it's much more technically complex to hide a certain type of ad from specific users and I don't think they get that.

Would be much, much easier to just ban gambling ads... But as other have said, they're big political donors in some states..

This all sounds like a ploy to link our identities between services for tracking.

I already don't see gambling ads, or indeed any ads at all online. That said, why not just make gambling ads illegal? They managed to do it for tobacco.

So, you'll just need to provide your name, email or phone to any internet site and app you use? Maybe your ID too.
