[-] Atomic@sh.itjust.works 11 points 17 hours ago

As a Debian user. I'll take it. Could be worse, could be anyone of the others.

[-] Asonyxi@sh.itjust.works 6 points 18 hours ago

Never met an arch user, but I know a NixOS user who is pretty much the bottom middle.

[-] fisch@lemmy.world 15 points 17 hours ago

The arch users are also bottoms.

[-] bhamlin@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago

Can confirm. I arch bottom, btw.

[-] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 12 points 21 hours ago

Fedora user wearing Fedora. Might be a little on the nose.

[-] Digit@lemmy.today 1 points 6 hours ago

I wear a fedora, and I've used nearly any and all distros as my daily driver, except fedora.

It's so confusing.

[-] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 20 hours ago

Ummm accccctually it’s a trillby.

[-] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 2 points 15 hours ago

As always people forget glorious Nixos

[-] Eufalconimorph@discuss.tchncs.de 17 points 23 hours ago

I think we NixOS users get grouped in with Arch. Same socks, different colors.

Add all the windows refugees with Zorin flooding forums with easily searchable questions and the gaming refugees with nobara complaining their community supported software isn't as full featured or polished as software produced by a multi-billion dollar company.

[-] Plumrooster@sopuli.xyz 2 points 6 hours ago

I can confirm that with a fresh Zorin install to replace windows 10, I am/will be one of the described persons. So far my qwant searches and AI searches have kept me off the forums, but I know the day will come.

[-] Zephyr@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago

It happens. I remember back in 2008 having quite the time learning about Linux with zero awareness of anything. I remember being kinda shocked there was a whole OS that wasn't windows or Mac and it was free.

[-] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 5 points 20 hours ago

Arch does piss me off less than most distros.

Wait….

[-] Digit@lemmy.today 1 points 6 hours ago

Reminds of the ol' Churchill line... "Democracy is the worst form of government, except all the other types of government."

[-] Kangae_Hishiryo@scribe.disroot.org 3 points 19 hours ago

Actually, yes (I use Arch-nya-desu, btw >w<)

Where are Void and Alpine? Or Slackware and Gentoo.

[-] EffortlessGrace@piefed.social 15 points 1 day ago

Me, running CachyOS, and eschewing the socks:

Community rules (click to expand)

1. Follow the site-wide rules

2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like "every user of thing".
  • Don't get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
  • Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated. This is an LGBTQ+-friendly community -- if that is a problem for you, you should leave.
  • 3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.
  • Don't come looking for advice, this is not the right community.
  • 4. No recent reposts
  • Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, <loves / tolerates / hates> systemd, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.
  • 5. 🇬🇧 Language/язык/Sprache
  • This is primarily an English-speaking community. 🇬🇧🇦🇺🇺🇸
  • Comments written in other languages are allowed.
  • The substance of a post should be comprehensible for people who only speak English.
  • Titles and post bodies written in other languages will be allowed, but only as long as the above rule is observed.
  • 6. (NEW!) Regarding public figuresWe all have our opinions, and certain public figures can be divisive. Keep in mind that this is a community for memes and light-hearted fun, not for airing grievances or leveling accusations.
  • Keep discussions polite and free of disparagement.
  • We are never in possession of all of the facts. Defamatory comments will not be tolerated.
  • Discussions that get too heated will be locked and offending comments removed.
  •

Please report posts and comments that break these rules!

Important: never execute code or follow advice that you don't understand or can't verify, especially here. The word of the day is credibility. This is a meme community -- even the most helpful comments might just be shitposts that can damage your system. Be aware, be smart, don't remove France.
