    Pretty sure that doesn't apply to China, unless you're talking about the revolution itself being an act of pillaging by the proletariat seizing the means.

    A lot of it’s racism but they take this same attitude with Appalachia and the de-industrialized places in the USA, just another example of how “their excessive wastes of yesteryear etc etc” are responsible for the environmental degradation and not the underlying economic system which prioritizes extraction and production over all

    i remember one of those that was of a woman in a labcoat under an article that passively condemned the "legacy of soviet policy in eastern europe" given their relative abundance and the man whipping her said "BECOME AN ACCOMPLISHED SCIENTIST"
