Is this not the equivalent of asking someone on the street to pay for a fence for your property so you don't have to look at them?

Why would they pay? Genuinely what power does the UK government have over 4Chan?

They can ban the website in the UK I guess. They can also try to impound any assets that 4chan has in the country but I doubt they have any. Besides that they can't do much else.

Here's the thing though, 4chan has blocked the UK, but they're still being harassed by Ofcom because VPN users can access the site. The British government is run by technologically illiterate idiots who when for not finding brand new ways to screw over transgender people, are trying to make websites and tech companies do things that aren't actually feasible.

“As 4Chan has no assets in the United Kingdom (given that it has no connection to the United Kingdom), that would require you to show up in a US court as a platiff, waive soreign immunity, and overcome existing U.S. doctrine regarding the non-enforcement of foreign regulatory penalties.

They have the power to prevent legitimate access from the UK which will prevent legitimate advertiser's being able to target UK markets via the website.

This is not much, since very few serious and legitimate businesses would advertise on 4chan anyway.

This lawyer is also the lawyer for Kiwi Farms so he is not a good person, even if he is making valid legal points

Internet censorship will wind up effecting us all, these laws will be turned on you eventually. KF & 4ch are the Canaries in the coalmine and no matter what each site represents I hope both can fight this shit like hell.

I wonder why they still haven't had their domain taken away, as it is hard to believe they didn't upset their local government too.

The worst thing the UK could do is sanction the country where responsible people live, though I consider this unlikely. The second worst thing they could do is just block it nationwide on a network level.

I want to troll the UK government for many reasons, not the same ones as these douchebags I am sure.

Isn’t 4chan on the Epstein plans? I know it makes a precedent for more invasive laws, but hell ma’am, let that shithole die. Britons are gonna be better off without it like, for sure!
