Watters asked if Miller was considering banning foreign pregnant women from entering the U.S., even temporarily.

“Well, what I’m saying, Jesse, is that you have to now think very carefully about who you let into your country, even on a temporary basis, because the possibility, as you said, for birth tourism, right, they do that. People come here just to have babies on American soil, and that baby gets to be a citizen for life,” Miller said.

Watters: Are we banning pregnant women from America?

Miller: You have to think carefully on who you let into the country. There’s a lot of things we have to take a hard look at. pic.twitter.com/mazrvtLhxa — Acyn (@Acyn) July 1, 2026

Miller added that he believes that babies born in the U.S. to undocumented immigrants would be able to send welfare checks back home to “support a whole family in the third world.”

Miller isn’t the only MAGA figure floating the idea of banning foreign-born pregnant women from entering the U.S.

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) on Tuesday introduced a bill he called the “Anchors Away Act” aimed at limiting or outright banning certain foreign-born pregnant women from entering the U.S.

“Under my bill, under my legislation, we fix that and go back to what our founders intended. So in short, what this bill does is if you are a pregnant woman, you can’t come into this country. You got to be a citizen, be here, you have to be a green card holder. So if you’re pregnant and you don’t have one of those statuses, no admittance allowed,” Ogles said in a video posted to social media on Tuesday.

Miller is a goblin.

We must not look at goblin men, We must not buy their fruits: Who knows upon what soil they fed Their hungry thirsty roots?

Cool, does this mean Barron will be deported? Melania wasn't a citizen when he was born.

Stephen Miller couldn't get a date with Latinas at his Santa Monica high school and he's held this grudge for decades.

Stephen Miller is a walking argument for the legalization of 163rd trimester abortions.

[-] BillyClark@piefed.social 13 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

His birthday is in August, so by my calculations, him being 40, he's in the 4th trimester of his 41st year, which is 164, then add the 3 from before he was born. So he would be in his 167th trimester. That's assuming that you don't count all of his millennia training as a demon before he disguised himself as a human.

[-] treehugger6@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

He's 40??? He looks like he's 15 years older. Hate ages you. My mother is another example

[-] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

Is it a common problem in the US? It’s not like American citizenship gets you free healthcare or tuition? And the hospital bill for the birth would be pretty high?

[-] optimisticturtle@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago

Maybe Medicare/Medicaid which are the insurances for young/disabled and elderly people respectively. But these tend to not be great plans. The reimbursement is so low compared to commercial insurance that many providers won't see those patients. I think Miller is getting at emergency care. Anyone who shows up to your ER is legally required to be seen if the hospital has the means to assess and treat or transferred to one that does. Many people, documented and undocumented, use the ER for primary care as it is difficult to get a primary care doc due to waitlists and costs. Using the ER for primary care clogs the system and makes it super expensive but it's misleading to blame that on the undocumented and not the physician shortage and lack of emphasis on preventive care in the US. You're not getting free tuition unless you meet some need/merit requirement but having in state residency makes programs much more affordable.

[-] Ithral@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 day ago

It's not really that big of a deal. Some people do it on purpose for various reasons, but it also comes with downsides. For the hospital bill though duty of care means you will be taken care of during childbirth. After that if you skip the country it's hard to collect, also if you aren't making much money in the first place your bill gets dramatically reduced.

If someone is willing to risk the cost of giving birth in the USA then I say who cares. Let them in.

Ie. Nothingburger is what Miller is choking on.

[-] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 1 points 23 hours ago

Dang you beat me to this comment. I’m leaving mine up until Miller accepts my challenge to a fist fight.

[-] billwashere@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Can we just ban him instead?

[-] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago

What an idiot. Pregnancy tests at the airports, great idea you absolute dipshit. I'll never forget when you spray-painted your head black, you bald bitch

[-] Triumph@fedia.io 10 points 1 day ago

Pics for more efficient shame?

[-] ryper@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

As an added "bonus", the jerks could also use the airport pregnancy tests to keep pregnant women from traveling to somewhere they could get an abortion.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Why do these assholes think this is such a major concern?

[-] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 day ago

Yeaahhhh, I'm sure people in other countries are just sooo eager to come to america where they can be indebted for the rest of their lives for giving birth in US hospitals...

Also,

we fix that and go back to what our founders intended

I'm sure that's what was at the forefront of the founding fathers' minds /s 🙄

[-] Hello_there@fedia.io 12 points 1 day ago

This is exactly the opposite of what we should do. We should create maternity centers and invite mothers to give birth here. Lots of income coming into our country. We get more citizens. We get a whole lot of people around the world who are invested in the success of the US.

[-] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Yeah, but what if they aren't white? - the gop

[-] adarza@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago

well that didn't take long. my first thought when i heard the news of that scRotus decision was "what they gonna do? run pregnancy tests at entry?"

[-] Zink@programming.dev 2 points 23 hours ago

This shit is just so openly racist, xenophobic, and hateful because on paper it's against the country's interest. I'd suggest he's just another kompromised asset being leveraged to dismantle the US empire, but we've also known him to be a piece of shit for a long time.

Pretty much all developed nations are facing birth rates far below the maintenance level.

The United States is well below-average in population density. Many areas do have too many people, but anybody with experience in the midwest knows that we have a lot of usable land with very few people on it.

Even if these ghouls kept all of their irrational fears and hatred but were granted a few rational brain cells to plan for the future, they would see that these people they want to remove and keep away are valuable resources. I'm sure they have grand delusions about how they're gonna ban contraception and sex-ed and abortion while having a steady stream of fertile 14 year old girls wheeled into their compound to rape and create their future factory workers, but it ain't good work.

The government is full of snowflakes and haters.

[-] kreskin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Cant we like just concentrate the pregnant females in a camp or some cages near the airport? Why are we spoiling the whole families vacations and potential tourist dollars to our brave tourist industry leaders?

[-] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

So how are you going to know? Women have to take pregnancy tests at customs?

[-] KnitWit@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I know it’s fox news so they are in on the con, but it amazes me how the media is allowing them to reframe this ruling as a change to the precedent. The administration keeps discussing it as ‘now that it has been ruled that’ as opposed to the fact that this is literally how it has always been.

[-] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 5 points 1 day ago

what a ghoul. Where did drumpfuck find these people??

[-] Reygle@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I personally would like to take a good, hard look at the inside of his heart. (Not being figurative.- I'd like to inspect the ventricles using my eyes while it's still warm.)

[-] treehugger6@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I'd rather give birth in the middle of an ocean than in that fucked up country
