There's a comic out there currently, called The Last Starship. It's not that good, but their doctor is a ferengi who is constantly on all kinds of drugs and nobody cares because he just hits himself with a neutralizer hypo whenever he needs to actually do anything.

Speaking from experience, you may as well just take pure caffeine pills. But the more you strip away the ritual and nonfunctional aspects, the less Trek-friendly it is. They just don't do performance enhancing drugs, it goes against their ethos.
