> be me

> Linux OS

> be exempted from CA law requiring age verification be built into me

> all websites and apps now require ability to query the OS account for age

> have no response, nerds with no legal experience fought to make sure I didn’t have to

> apps have to assume my users are toddlers since I cannot give a valid verification

> nothing works on Linux anymore

Damn, I guess parents have to pay attention to their kids now. This whole thing reminds me of those signs parents put IN the streets that say "Kids at play". Oh, I'm sorry, is this a playground? I thought this was a street for driving giant metal carriages. When I was a kid, we were taught to stay out of the street and look both ways before crossing.

I agreed with your first sentence, then you went off the rails. I don't know how a watch out for kids sign is the same as enforcing age verification bullshit going on. I think the better analogy was watch out for kids sign at the street is the same as "hey adult content on this site". If you want to run over kids on this street, carry on... Or if you want to get to the adult content, please proceed.
