Trump would be an idiot not to defend Taiwan. Ok, realistically we already know that he is one and it wouldn't be a surprise if he decided not to, but his whole obsession with AI would be immediately contradicted by his unwillingness to defend the people making the hardware for it.

That's always been the US's official policy.
