"Build it and they will come" is true for transport infrastructure.

If the "it" is a network, not just a single path.

If you just connect 1 parking lot to the next and leave it at that, no one is going to use it even if you did your best to make it non-hostile to whatever mode of transport.

You don't determine demand for a bridge by measuring the number of swimmers.

You don't determine demand for a jacuzzi by measuring the number of…? Angry people? Sunburns? Muppets talking through a fan?

Car owners with car that can go from 0kmph to 80kmph in just a few second: where is our bridge? You can't make us go 4km out there to use that bridge while cyclist get to use a shortcut!

But, everybody can buy cars.

Yeah, but can everybody afford maintain it? Can environment sustain it? What about the load each car adds to a cities infrastructure?

Dark Souls players hate this comic

The comic could be interpreted as pro-car. More people can drive than can bike.

More people can drive than can bike.

Lol is this true in the US? There is seriously something wrong with your country.

[-] starik@lemmy.zip -5 points 2 weeks ago

There must be something wrong with your cars if bicycling is easier than driving.
