“Starting to wonder” if building skynet is a bad guy move?

how were they supposed to know that the company called "crystal ball used by Satan-analogue to gather intel and to seduce or deceive opposition to ensure success in war to enslave mankind" was evil when they agreed to work for them?

I’ve said this elsewhere but I know somebody who used to work for a startup that would automatically reject any job applicant with Palantir in their resume. Wish it was standard practice.
