For the purpose of replying / typing messages - Square all the way

I'm from a generation that grew up thinking of watches as fashion accessories, not functional extensions of our smartphones.

Round watches are much prettier. I'll always prefer a round watch to a square one.

Square. More efficient and adapted for a smartwatch. Round is useless, yeah ok it’s closer to a real watch but a smartwatch will NEVER ever ever look as good as a real watch so it’s pointless

I switch back and forth between my Apple Watch and my analog watches. So not having a round dial on a smartwatch doesn’t bother me at all.

square is more functional, but a nice circle one that really looks like a watch is awesome

When using as a watch to look time and complications the round one looks much nicer. But if you open any app, even a simple app, you lose too much UI space on round design… and designers to their best but it’s just much more useful area on a square

Square, even on normal watches. The circle is an absolute classic, but the Square feels more elegant overall. Also, it displays information better.

Round has the advantage of allowing a larger mm without looking as bulky on the wrist.

If Apple ever makes a round Apple Watch I’ll never buy it.

I personally have always loved big faces on watches. For traditional watches, I love round faces but for a smartwatch I love the shape and aesthetic of the ultra.

Round for a smartwatch doesn’t make much sense in terms of displaying content. It’s already limited, and round further limits what you can show.

Square. I feel like round smartwatches try to mimic analog watches by being round, but they never look like a normal watch. For me a round watch is in the uncanny valley. Looking kinda fake and therefore cheap, if that makes sense. While a square one looks like a computer on your wrist, not trying to fool anyone. Although i really like the rotating bazels on samsung watches, that was very cool.

Used smartwatches from Motorola, Huawei, Samsung and Apple. AW is by far the most comfortable and is most information dense and usable.

Round ones look better tho.

I’d say square. Our tv’s, phones , computers aren’t round. Isn’t the best way to display info on.
