Zionism is an outgrowth of Christian Millenarianism and how it generally manifests in American politics. It is not a separate project.

I remember some talk about it back when the 2003 Iraq war happened. But yes it’s been largely absent from analyses. By some accounts there is a large cabal of evangelicals within the military, especially air force, who promote the agenda
I have lived in the US for like 15 years (including the South) and never once run into one of these people. Met a lot of zionists though.
Religious belief is ultimately malleable to the desires of the ruling class. Christianity will be hammered into whatever shape they need it to be (e.g. hardline opposition to abortion suddenly becoming an inviolable Christian principle following Roe v. Wade and the women's liberation movement).
It’s allowed to exist cause their aims are foldable into usa goals, not the other way around. They became zionists just as entity became usa ally, it’s not 100-1000 year old project. Put it another way, if they, for some reason, would desire destruction of saudis or japanese, their aspirations won’t go anywhere
Be more materialistic about ideologies, porkies shop around and amplify something which fits their goals, so if say pope is a jp2, spreading christianity is a priority, if it’s francis - not so much, if christianity is about austere consumption - no, if it’s about supply side jesus - yes.
