Everyone else is busy hating trans people and they're happy to eat shit if it means even one trans person suffers

    LGBT+ people in general, as well as POC. The problem is that the people most likely to for this hatred are aligned with the wealthy, elite whether they know it or not. So we have to fight them to get to their masters.

    Not LGBT+ people in general. The LGB were too happy to throw queer people under the bus and they aren't bearing the brunt of the hate.

    queers are closer aligned with the identities that they descend from (especially so w white ones) than they are with each other; that's why grindr keeps crashing from overload every time there's a conservative convention somewhere.

    Don't bring race into this. I dealt with a fuckton of harassment and threats from cis people despite being white passing and no, the people doing it weren't all white.

    I'm trans and white passing too, I'm sorry for your bad experiences, I've had plenty too. I just wanted to say that there's a very real issue with white LGBT+ people aligning themselves with their whiteness more than their queerness, especially for cis people, but even trans folks (see people like Contrapoints). So for systemic issues you do see a divide that we shouldn't ignore.

    I could say the same about black queer people aligning with cis black people who are grossly transphobic. It's very common for transphobic black people to accuse white queer people of being racist when they want to get away with blatant transphobia. I've seen it in person plenty of times.

    The difference is that reactionary black people don't have racial privileges the way white people generally do, black people are more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators, and I don't know if you're reading the room or not but their communities have been terrorized for centuries. Without knowing anything about you personally I can't comment on your experiences, but we live in a racist system designed to keep black people down and superexploit them. Even as things get progressively worse for us trans folks we need to stay in solidarity with black people and other POC, it's the right thing to do and there's a lot we can learn by listening to them.

    This is about trans and queer people and you reduced it to race which belittles the white and white passing people who struggle even if you're white passing. I'm here talking about our struggles and here you go to make it about race. That's like talking about your struggles and someone brings up starving kids in Africa. You've lost the point.

    We're fighting the same oppressive forces though, so it's not at all comparable to changing the topic to oppression Olympics. But if you'll be so defensive when a real issue comes up I'm not interested in taking further.

    This is the last reply I'm doing. My comment was about trans and queer people. Someone wanted to throw white queer people under the bus for having a mirror and identifying with others who look like them despite black queer people doing the same. Many white and white passing queer people still get threatened, forced into poverty, assaulted, and called slurs. If you want to create racial divides between queer people when I'm talking about struggles all queer people face then go fuck yourself. Convo over.

    Even the upper middle class are master networkers, hooking each other up and triangulating via clubs, the old boys network and good old fashioned nepotism. When they attack unions they’ll say it’s because they corrupts the purity of the market and free competition and shite like that, but really it’s because game recognise game.

    Warren Buffett has argued for rich people paying higher taxes for years, so I'm not sure he is the best example for this meme.

    He operates like any other big capitalist though, even if he paid higher taxes he'd still benefit from the exploitation of workers and rent extraction, etc. This is a brilliant PR move by him, not a show of not being aligned with his class. Hell, he said he'd donate his wealth to charity on his death, but you know which charity he picked?

    You say it's a great PR move from him, but last I checked he has "fuck you" money so I'm not sure I buy that. If he doesn't mean it there would be no real benefit for him to say it. I don't think he cares that I just said he's less bad than those others pictured.

    He picked the Gates Foundation. Bill Gates is in the files and was a friend of Epstein.

    I was just pointing out he's clearly advocated against his own class, much contradicting his inclusion in this meme. Whether it was "excellent PR" or not doesn't really matter, considering he could have easily not advocated for taxing himself more and either way it actually has no real impact on his life. Especially if you believe there's nothing to him besides a cynical greedy monster.

    I'd argue advocating for taxation isn't really threatening to his own class. He'd be a class traitor if he advocated for workers' democracy, better working rights, stronger unions, no exploitation of foreign workers, etc.

    The issue isn't that taxes are too low for the rich (even though they are), the issue is that they exploit us (both domestically and internationally) and get richer from owning rather than working, and that anything that we do to challenge this arrangement can get us killed.

    I apologize then, it's just that it's a common talking point to say someone like Buffett isn't as bad because of paying taxes or similar. Typically by neo-liberal types as justification that there are "good billionaires."

    Oh I was referencing Laika studios or what it's called. They made Kubo And The Two Strings. It's headed by a billionaire who inherited his fortune. He uses it to make art. They've made a fair amount of stop motion movies that didn't return big bucks, but he just cares about the art.
