[-] Scrollone@feddit.it 4 points 2 days ago

I think they limit posts to Lemmy... ๐Ÿฅถ

[-] Blaze@piefed.zip 4 points 2 days ago

You'll get banned from most of the subs

[-] XTL@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

So, win-win.

Not sure how to understand this comment:

Lemmy is like 1000s of websites similar to reddit, doing its best to be as irrelevant as possible. Just use lemmy.world instead.

[-] Joyje@feddit.nu 15 points 3 days ago

It's really good more people are talking about Lemmy on Reddit. It gives Lemmy more exposure and more and more users are making the switch from Reddit to Lemmy because of it! ๐ŸŽ‰

We should all be making posts regularly on Reddit about how to easily switch to Lemmy. ๐Ÿ’ช

People are more ready now than ever before.

Someone should tell them it is possible to use reddit and also lemmy. And reddit removing posts is a good reason to use both, so content that disappears on reddit continues to be accessible on the fediverse.

I'm going point people straight to Summit's website to avoid them getting lost in the play store.

[-] username968142@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Or just abandon Reddit for Lemmy once and for all.

Deleted my account a month ago. If I need to read something really important, I do it via libredirect.

Only the fediverse deserves my full attention.

[-] thesdev@feddit.org 11 points 3 days ago

"Perfect is the enemy of good" or something so I think having that sub is not ironic. But I agree in principle or else I would not have been here.

[-] Lfrith@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 days ago

I think the best way to convince people to use the fediverse is by pointing out they are likely already using social media other than just reddit, so they should add the fediverse into the mix instead of being so hesitant about it.

Trying to make it like a reddit replacement I think is adding some barrier to adoption psychologically. But, these same people are fine using reddit, twitter, instagram, threads, tiktok, bluesky, etc. So it's not like they dont have room to also use the fediverse like lemmy.

Yes. Not just because it's American but because it's a capitalist shithole

Reddit or social media in general should be the last thing we switch, simply because we need to reach as many people as possible. If we give that up too early, the movement dies instantly. You cannot convince people to switch if they can't even see your posts.

This is half right half cope. You aren't forced to use a single social media. You can switch while remaining.

Also I cracked up seeing someone say "as a Lemmy user" then noticing their name was guillotines now. Very on brand.

[-] UncleArthur@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

Already have.

[-] XTL@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 days ago

Better late than never.

[-] RalfWausE@feddit.org 2 points 2 days ago
