"The masses in any given place are generally composed of three parts, the relatively active, the intermediate and the relatively backward. The leaders must therefore be skilled in uniting the small number of active elements around the leadership and must rely on them to raise the level of the intermediate elements and to win over the backward elements." -Mao Tse Tung "Some Questions Concerning Methods of Leadership" (June 1, 1943), Selected Works, Vol. III, p. 118.

Patriotism is a tool Communists can use to bring the backwards masses forward. One doesn't even need to feel the patriotism themselves to see the gains in class consciousness amongst the conservative members of the working class.

You don't have to like the ACP, but it's undialectical to ignore what they actually do

Mao Zedong was speaking from a colonized country where nationalism and patriotism took the form of a national liberation struggle against colonial forces like the Japanese, British, French, etc.. In the United States, nationalism and patriotism (footnote) is of the same chauvinist settler-colonial variety that we see in Israel, but on a larger scale.

footnote: not grouping this with the internal national liberation struggles of American BIPOC which is separate from US nationalism

You don't have to like the ACP, but it's undialectical to ignore what they actually do

What they actually do is reheat LaRouchite fascism in the microwave and try to sell it to a new generation.

Insane that thinking socalist should be ironically be pro-america to...capture the most disloyal and unrevolutionary sections of the american populace (hog posturing as humble countryfolk).

Why black americans, latinos and native americans would regard america with such high regard that it warrants socialists adopting a false ideal of "america", is something that alludes me. Because Mao or Vietnam did it? newsflash the us is not vietnam or 1930s china.

Hahah, lemme tell you this... there's a difference between nationalism necessarily birthed,

under backdrop of oppressed masses of Imperialism

(eg. Vietnamese nationalism truly developed under France, with the destruction of local Vietnamese feudal economy to pave away for imperial capitalist exploitation of land and labor; to make plantations and industry, dependent on building the French imperial economy)

and one under the backdrop of 'oppressed' Americans wanting their share of the pie; stolen Indigenous land and African slaves

(eg. American nationalism, who wanted independence from Britain, mainly due to the British trying to restrict their land expansion, worries of the British restricting slavery, and overall British empire co-optation of settler-colonial political economy)

I understand and agree with you

But I don't just pay attention to what a group says, I care about material impact

Organizing labor against the American bourgeois weakens the hold of the American bourgeois, which in turn is good for the nations oppressed by the empire

They do limited mutual aid and charity work with their actual rank and file members while the streamer grifter leadership do shit like this and this and this and doxx/attack their critics just like their LaRouchite forefathers

look at that third video of Jackson Hinkle saying women shouldn't vote unless it is under the authority of a man and tell me that's Communist.

We can be idealists on this site if we want, but if we're being realistic with ourselves, the socialism that's possible in the current American context is going to be socialism with burgerland characteristics

You should be agitating for raising consciousness instead of trying to pander to prejudices

How these guys seem to think we will have any sort of "socialism" when fash are allowed to be loud and proud and white supremacy is actively encouraged is never explained. I know why they don't explain it, but it doesn't explain why they think we are stupid enough to fall for their "Third Way" like this.
