Like pretty much everything the CCP does, it's "rules for thee, but not for me".
My guess is that they are so used to controlling their people they probably think it should work for everything else.
Less China bashing requires less actions that require bashing.
China: “Hm. How can we get other countries to stop bashing us so much?”

Okay sure. Abolish the CCP, free all uyghurs, free Hong Kong, free Tibet, remove the great firewall, apologize for the great leap forward; not to the EU but to your own Population, apologize for the great cultural revolution deaths, Tianenmen square... do i have to go on?
Stop flying fighter jets over Taiwan, stop predatory lending in Africa, stop with the spy balloons, stop propping up NK, stop supporting Russia, stop selling the West melamine in their baby formula…

It really makes me laugh how sensitive they are. They’ll kill people to keep a little satire from being heard. It’s ridiculous. Have they seen the withering condemnation and ridicule that the US government endures? Grow some backbone CCP.

"We hope that Europe will show more openness and self-confidence on the issue of electromobility and Huawei's [RIC:RIC:HWT.UL] 5G technology," Wu Ken said at a reception in Berlin late on Thursday to mark the 74th anniversary of the founding of modern China.
"China is in any case prepared to deepen a cooperation with Europe and Germany in which all parties profit."
