"The gulf between Israel’s government and the rest of the world — including its allies, the Trump administration, the Israeli public, and the American Jewish community — is widening into a chasm. And yet some in Jewish leadership are hiding their heads in the sand.

Critics of the Netanyahu-Smotrich regime are no longer just campus protesters, or hostile-to-Israel regimes, or antisemites like the murderer of two young Jews at an AJC event in Washington DC last week. They include former prime minister Ehud Olmert..."

You needed to face that reality a long time ago. Instead you have been loudly supporting this genocide for over a year

You also need to face the reality that the problem is not just the "Netanyahu-Smotrich regime", and that opposition to Israel isn't antisemitism.

This article is pure, disingenuous face saving. Just trying to distance themself from the genocide now that they're supported it along to a point where they feel it can't be stopped. Read through it and they hit all the talking points; "Israel has a right to defend itself", "October 7th was an unspeakable crime", "Hamas is pure evil", "we need to save the hostages". They support every part of the current genocidal project except for the part where it looks bad for them and their veneer of liberal civility, so now they're trying to palm of all the guild to a few rogue politicians who totally don't represent Israel or Zionism in general.

Don't worry it's the Forward, there's 3 more articles coming about how the definition of genocide should exclude destruction in whole or in part of a group by a group that has "epigenetic trauma" from being victims of a genocide themselves.

Was about to say… wasn’t that always their plan…?

Yeah, but he's angry that it's becoming too obvious.

The goal has been annihilation since well before 1948. It's so ridiculous that news media keeps pretending that October 7th kicked off a new conflict.

Exactly. Bibi donating to Hamas got him his pretext.

At what point will people realise this genocide is not a 'War' at all.

These murderers should be tried in the Hague.

Two young Jews

What a weird thing to call a Christian and his (maybe Jewish) fiancé

And that is why adventurism is bad. I read his manifesto, it was thoughtful, sober, and somber reasoning that made sense in a vacuum, but two zionist staffers getting clapped isn't going to end the war and the media simply buries his own words and paints him as an anti-semite.

Only facing reality now?

Better late than never I guess.

Ha! He's protesting a war FOR ZIONISM.

I'm worried that India and Pakistan might get there first; and in an even more dramatic fashion.
