Anyone pissed about a female lead being "woke" can't read the books... Maybe present it in coloring book format?

didn't realise people were calling the next witcher game woke because of this, but it's 2025 and there's no bar too low.

detractors probably never realised you could play parts of TW3 as Ciri because of skill issue

If those people could read, developers could save so much money by not having the games fully voiced.

People need to learn anti 'woke' is code for racism. Same with anti-DEI.

Obligatory marxist theory: its all a plot to divide the working class for better exploitation. An angry, divided, exhausted populace cant stand united against oppression. Anti wokeism is all just planted by capitalists.

If only the media was well regulated to protect against bad actors turning it into a propaganda machine like this

Well regulated is an oxymoron. You cant give regulators control over the media under threat of them being compromised. Media must always be independent and democratic. Meaning all private media firms must be dismantled and only horizontally governed media collectives can be permitted. Meaning that all participants in a media outlet are equal and decide in qualified majority over their actions. Of course this doesnt mean independent journalists cant be a thing. Just not large, for profit corporations with hierarchies.

What's to stop a horizontally governed media collective from being compromised and corrupted?

Nothing. Same as a hierarchical one. The chance of corrupting a democratically governed group is astronomically worse than a hierarchical one.

So wouldn't it be better to have an independent regulator and a robust set of ethics and rules the media needs to adhere to?

Thats what we supposedly have today. As you can see, that doesnt help either.

Leftist and extreme leftist concepts are mostly shown to work. Things like universal basic income for example. Horizontal organizations are the same. They already work. It is caputalism that just lies about it.

Regulators over hierarchical media do the same tomorrow that they do today: small numbers of people are easily corruptable and are proven to be able to censor information critical to governments or their own beliefs and flaws.

You just have to look at independent media today. Look at 404 for example. There is no need to censor them because its their professional ethics and horizontal system that gives them credibility. Sites like allsides are much more helpful in that case.

Imagine a world where every media company was structured like 404 and the rest was independent journalists on their own. An outlet like foxnews would no longer be governed by profit interested monorities. Of course most journalists on there have conservative ideology. Still, they would be bound to work in democracy which means that a majority would have to sign off on lies if they were to be published. That is a significant hurdle and also is unlikely to happen because they would be easily disprovable due to the significantly smaller size without the billions in assets.

I don't care about Ciri being the main character, I like her, but I read the books and I do care about them feeling the need to make the character a witcher when this isn't the case in the books; she couldn't be a witcher nor does she need to.

It's not like I'm writing the game off, but it's a significant departure from the books, which makes me cautious, and I feel like challenging people to "read the books," is a bit disingenuous here.

But how hyper masculine gamers are going to keep being masculine if they don't have a role model like Gerald? This is a plot to feminize the male population and make them sex slaves of the women.

But I want to buy every single game that have Geralt in it. Looks like I skip buying next witcher then.
