Worse for everyone except for the greedy, power-hungry assholes who can't stand the thought of people having anything resembling freedom and want everything to be a vector for their psychopathic desire to control everyone and everything.

Unfortunately, much of our government (and even more of its security state bureaucratic apparatus) is comprised of exactly those assholes.
