The fact that Peter Dutton on the day that this came down, went straight to politics showed that this bloke doesn’t get it. It’s not about that. It’s about Jennifer [Miller]. It’s about people like her. You know, a number of people lost their live others tried to take their own life, ended up in hospital and they’re still dealing with that. That’s the real human consequence of this. And that should always be kept in mind here.

I'd say that a rock would have shown more sympathy to the victims than a potato

That's an improvement from "as much empathy as Voldemort".

They recently started sending newsletter emails (hit my spam, thank God) that were super excited to let us know about his friends sharing "rare insight" into the "real Peter Dutton" which was just a fucking wild thing to hear.

Like if your leader requires "rare insight" for people to think he's not an ethically bankrupt sociopath/crypto christiofascist then jesus christ.

Agreed on the barrel. Truly, I'll just be happy when we all stop framing them as a legitimate opposition. Now that Labor has decided to become the hot new Neoliberal corporate lapdog, the LNP offer nothing but accelerationist regression.

With earnest, grounded work and hope, we might back from the last 30 years of centre-right madness.

Just letting you know that your Mastodon @'s sometimes don't reach their intended target. We were playing around with it the other day and were only getting notifications on direct replies or auto completion in Lemmy.

Just in case we aren't on the same page, BNE would get your a notification to your reply, Tassietosser would not have. The @s just dont notify.

You could see my auto complete for Tassietosser, they would have got that one in their inbox.

Only the person you reply to gets the notification. The @s don't seem to work at all.

I can autocomplete a name in the PWA for Lemmy which is a markdown hyperlink which notifies. So I can @ a number of people with that method from here.

I'll add a screenshot of the process when I'm adding you. I click on your name to complete. I'm not sure if I can call you in with an @ from another reply. Maybe. I'll reply to myself in another thread somewhere and see if you get it.
