I love the lines they offer, this one in particular because of the different direction they go in.

Tell me I'm not alone πŸ˜‚

There's an artist who took pictures at different times of day to combine them in one photo of a high voltage pylon like that, it's really cool:

Here's some coverage with photos of the work in progress and links to their page(s): https://mymodernmet.com/cal-cole-time-slice-photography/

This is fucking sick

[-] BeReet 2 points 11 months ago

I always love those photos but I'd need it to be summer to get one like that I think πŸ˜‚

You can hear this image if you're old enough

[-] DaveyRocket@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

Without ever seeing one before, I’m somewhat sure I require additional ones.

Of different colours

[-] BeReet 1 points 11 months ago

I'm 36, I don't know what it is. Should I be embarrassed? πŸ˜‚

That's why! I'm absolutely dog shit at games, couldn't even imagine playing StarCraft even semi competently πŸ˜‚

Pylon cool innit

[-] BeReet 1 points 11 months ago

I replied pylon cool innit because the post just said pylon and didn't show the pic but that's a great pylon pic ❀️

[-] samtheeagle@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Hah! It took me about 10 attempts to get the chuffin pic inline in the post ><

[-] BeReet 1 points 11 months ago

Didn't even know you had to deal with that shit πŸ˜‚ I use the boost app and I don't have to.

I sure do here’s one of the ones I’ve taken. Also changing direction.

[-] BeReet 1 points 11 months ago

They always look so majestic but with that added sense of danger πŸ˜‚. My dad climbed one once in his youth, it came up often, he was very proud of it. Obviously he was thick as fuck but it's impressive nonetheless.

Moody photo. These pylons have an interesting fractal-like construction.

[-] BeReet 3 points 11 months ago

I just thought "that change in direction is sweet" πŸ˜‚ I like your way of putting it.

Heck yes ❀️

[-] Gromat@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 11 months ago

Yup, not alone

[-] jlow@beehaw.org 3 points 11 months ago

Yeah, they are pretty cool (especially when connecting renewables to the grid).

[-] BeReet 3 points 11 months ago

Need more solar and wind in the UK without the NIMBYism

[-] jlow@beehaw.org 2 points 11 months ago

Also while we're on it make it state owned, I've heard that 90% of Scottish "renewables" are owned by firms not even from Scotland (but Danmark, Finland and Saudi Arabia or something). Something as essential as electricity should not be owned privately.

[-] BeReet 2 points 11 months ago

It's insane when the powers that be think it's a good idea to just sell off the resources. Sell the excess by all means, don't sell the fucking source. Every necessary utility should be government owned, Internet included as long as it's not proper shit. πŸ˜‚

Yesss thanks for joining my cult πŸ˜‚

[-] Sam_Bass@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

I'm always impressed by how arrow-straight their line-ups are

[-] Cerborealis@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

Not usually into pylon photos, but that’s a damn good photo all the same!

[-] BeReet 1 points 11 months ago

Thank you very much! A couple who were smoking a bifta together after riding in on an electric scooter were about 200 metres to my left πŸ˜‚

[-] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 1 points 11 months ago

Man I came here for a super fly reference. Not one 😒
