Used to let workers devote 20% of their time to personal projects to attract the best people. How times change.

    There was a teacher in my area who embraced that 20% and used it as a justification to let his students do whatever the fuck they wanted on Fridays. One or two kids would do something cool over the semester, and that allowed him a showcase to continue doing his job half-assed.
