Daily reminder that your local library probably has a free streaming service and at the very least still loans out DVDs

I don't understand people who remain subscribed if they're not happy with the price increase.

If you're happy to see another few quid disappear from your account every month, fine. If you don't like it or think they're taking the piss, then don't use them. At this point, remaining a subscriber is an endorsement that their business practices are okay.

The first time I got the password sharing nag notification for my other half's account, we cancelled it for both of us. Either don't increase the price, or don't decrease the service quality - doing both is just waving two fingers at the customer. If I wanted to pay £15 a month to be treated with pure disdain, I'd go to Starbucks and order two frappucinos.

Anyone who can read instructions and owns an HDMI-based system on a stick can find that they can infinitely more content for less money in any case.

Fuck them. If you pay and keep moaning, well fuck you too. You're part of the problem and not part of the solution.

The other day I had a galaxy brain thought: Imagine if people cared. Just cared a little more. Things could be so much better.

Like, litter. Imagine if people just cared a little more and didn't litter. Whole problem just goes away.

If people cared a little more and just canceled their netflix when the price went up (or they did other nonsense), maybe things would change.

But I'm told I have impossible standards and people cannot meet my expectations.

I absolutely obsess over this all day, every day. How much better things would be if people just had a fucking modicum of self-respect. Not even respect for others, just for yourself.

If you still pay for this service, bend over and stop complaining.

Dropout.tv is half that price and has reams of actually enjoyable content.

Okay, but that isn’t remotely the same as what Netflix or similar platforms have. Dropout is comedy based shows that started as a rebranding of College Humor. Not everyone wants to watch comedians guess each others secrets, play randomly made up games or watch drag queens play a TTRP. I’m not against it, I happen to enjoy some of the shows. The comparison doesn’t work.

  • I usually only subscribe to Netflix like twice a year for one month when enough content has piled up for me to watch. It's so not worth it any more to keep this shit running.

Is there a way to prevent/skip the ads on the ad plan? Does pi-hole work?

Edit: I should have been more specific. LOL Not on browser, I'm on ShieldTV Pro.

Canceling Netflix was such a good decision. I was there in the beginning, but I’m never going back.
