Really hoping Nwaneri gets out on as a sub this weekend. I know Bolton is a cutie if divisions down, but he did very well against them. And every time he's been called on to come off the bench against stronger teams he's done well.

Also, anyone know how Lewis-Skelly is doing? He looked to be in some discomfort when he came off the other night.

Chido Obi shared a clip on tiktok saying the actual reason he left the Arsenal was because of a sketchy stat card showing teenagers have only got to play 19 minutes under Arteta in the previous PL campaign.

The league cup lineup against Bolton has pulled a few strings.

I will say, the one thing that's good about the seeding thing with the new EFL cup format is that youth actually get to play. Still not the biggest fan of it, but yeah.

Honestly - and I would love to hear people's thoughts on this - I think any club that qualifies for any level of Europe should be ineligible for the EFL cup. I swear the only reason that's not how it is is that teams want to be able to do the quadruple. Or if United need to extend a manager's fan "contract" for a few months.

tbh if it weren't for the fact that the lower leagues get a decent chunk of money from it (like how AFC Wimbledon will surely be to deal with the mess that is their current pitch), I'd be in favour of scrapping it entirely. France did it. The EFL should just expand the Pizza Cup to include Championship teams if the Championship clubs somehow don't think they are playing enough games. Even so, I think the sensible thing to do is get rid of it and then force the PL to send more money down the pyramid.

I mean you're right, but it's kind of stupid for that windfall to be dependent on luck, no? And yeah, I agree entirely, if you took just a few million from each club's prize money and distributed it to the pro leagues, it would be a gigantic sum of money for those teams.

It's a bit of luck but you have to do good to get there in the first place. But yeah, like I said, take some more money off the PL besides just parachute payments, which fuck up the Championship anyway lol.
