Its a reference to Bullet with Butterfly Wings - by Smashing Pumpkins. An old 90s song all us middle aged Americans heard on the radio so much that even people who don’t like that band would probably recognize it

"The world is a vampire" is the opening line from the Smashing Pumpkins hit "Bullet with Butterfly Wings"

The meme rejects the notion of flat earth by instead asserting that the song is literal and not metaphorical. This was not the expected mode of argument, hence comedy.
