Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

Donald Trump came into office and had both Houses.
Never even mentioned weed, unless it was to talk about how users should be executed.
But I'm sure he'll change next time
Hahaha right. "But I swear guys he'll do the right thing this time!!!1!". Dictator day 1
Who said anything about Trump?
Talking about US politics and not mentioning the GOP is impossible.
It sure seems like it was possible, at least until you showed up.
Who was it who said that Twitter was great because they could tell you all they knew about any subject in 140 characters?
I did.
At least it is if you can't defend Democrats' deliberate uselessness.
What makes you think there's a giant majority of the country begging for a hard Left party?
Every poll I've seen puts 'Socialists' at about 6% of the population.
Do you have better data?
Poll on the issues and policies instead of the labels and you'll get wildly different results
I agree 100% That's one of my biggest beefs with my fellow Progressives. I once got into it with someone. I said the only thing we should be saying is "Tax the rich." He spent hours explaining why we had to educate the workers into Marxism before we could do anything meaningful.
It's too bad we don't vote on issues and polices; we vote on politicians and the Right knows how to find pretty faces who know how to sound good.
Well, about this particular issue, 70% of the US wants what neither conservative party is willing to ever do.
The title of the article is that the current, Democratic Vice President is calling for it to be rescheduled.
Biden pardoned all pot smokers back in 2022.
You tried to move the goal posts and failed.
And apparently you agree that less than 10% of the population is 'Socialist.'
Fruitless words are not accomplishments. If we accept the former in lieu of the latter, we will not get the latter. I'm sure that's fine with you.
No, he pardoned the tiny fraction of pot smokers who are convicted in federal court. I'm not faulting him for not pardoning the others, as he cannot pardon state convictions.
I don't care what your made up statistics are, you were trying to divert from the subject at hand.
As I see it, the 'subject at hand' is that it's hard to get all fifty states to agree on something like this.
A lot of voters adamantly oppose any changes, and they have a right to be heard too, even if you don't like it.
I mean, it's still illegal, so they are heard. I have every right to be upset, even if you love the current status quo.
