It's not OP's problem to solve. Take it up with Raw Story, or block them by domain here:

...if you're really upset about it.

It is OP's problem. It comes down to "quote the original source".

JFC, you really wanna keep digging? People with your attitude are why we can't have nice things.

You call this "good thing"? Lol, we call it the american circus. Keep it for trash subs where it belongs. Those people want attention and people like you naively give it to them. Who's next? Hunter biden? Marjorie stuff? Keep it for trash subs.

IKR? This is the 2nd weird ass argument I've gotten in on Kbin this evening. Either it's a full moon or Mars is in asshole or something. People are stupid and punchy tonight.

Dude has come at me grouchy before because he didn’t like an article I posted, because it wasn’t “serious” news. He seems to think he’s the arbiter of what Should Be Posted or something.

On the plus (?) side, looks like blocks are still a work in progress, since he supposedly blocked me over a post about snake research, yet still sees my posts and comments. That’s good to know before blocking folks.

Definitely seems to be singling you out for some weird reason. Seems like there might be some sexism in play given your username. You post great stuff - glad you're not letting this asshole stop you.

Thank you!

And good point about the sexism - I knew not to use a name that gave away gender on Reddit and used a variant, but foolishly thought the Fediverse would be better because I never had any issues on Mastodon. Bleh.

They also might be pitching a fit at me specifically because I called them grumpy and basically laughed in their face instead of wailing and vowing to be better when they deigned to tell me how I was Doing Everything Wrong.

Lol - when people like that tell you you're DOING EVERYTHING WRONG, you're probably doing it right, and better than they ever could. Comparing your posting history to his proves my point.

Have they ever even posted anything? I’ve only seen comments from them, and never any actual posts.

They are more than welcome to post what they want to see instead of trying to tell others what not to post. I post what I find interesting; they can do the same. I encourage that - the more posts and activity, the better.

Nope. Looks like he's one of those that prefers to snipe from the sidelines rather than do any heavy lifting.

Going back to your mention of the toxicity of Reddit, I feel like that was one of dynamics that tanked the quality of the site over time - millions of anonymous commenters vs. the posters that were actually providing content created a pretty negative space for those of us that like to share new ideas.

I agree with you that encouraging posters should be the focus of the Fediverse. This place is setup to be a publishers wonderland, and if you're just using it to complain about what others contribute, you're missing the entire point of the platform. If he really wants to nitpick which posts should and shouldn't appear in his feed, he needs plug back into the Reddit hivemind and leave the Fediverse in peace.

So... don't engage with them then. You don't have to reply. They don't have to either. You're both fanning the flames of arguments you both claim you don't want to have.

What about you stop spamming every link you find on the internet instead? kbin is not your toy.

On the fediverse, your comments are seen much, much wider than kbin, and I agree with them, you're being a dick unneccessarily.

Grow up, and get used to the idea that your opinion is like your asshole, it's important to you, but nobody else wants to see it.
