This situations seems to me like you're setting up unclear expectations for the sub though and prioritizing yourself over the sub. You're not really controlling the situation, they are in that case. You don't want to set a goal or expectation and then actively hinder being able to achieve it. It would be better in my opinion if they know they get a certain amount of time with the remote on after successful completion.

That being said, as long as everything is discussed and above board beforehand then go hard and have fun.
