This phrase rings like a bell in my circles every time the topic of humanitarian ceasefire comes up, and it effectively stonewalls the conversation. Just a point of frustration that I have no real place to ventilate.

Other bangers include:

  • Israel can't trust the Palestinians, they've never been given a reason to do so.
  • Hamas wants to make Israel not exist.
  • So you equate Israel now to Nazis during WW2? (while talking about the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising)
  • Hamas takes drugs and ...
    spoilerrapes corpses of women and children.

Hard to be interested in engaging after reading that last one, but no one else is going to bring the missing half of the conversation.

    The response I got was "They'll just attack anyway". Predictable.

    Edit:

    • Hamas will steal all the aid, they're already sitting on a dragon's horde of supplies.
    • Zionism has proven to be pretty volatile but it's irrelevant now that this has begun.

    I hear this shit all the time. And it's like "Oh weird. And why is Gaza in a position where they need to be given aid in the first place?!"

    I know right? Even from their perspective, calling for a ceasefire only emboldens their position, because if Hamas doesn't respect that ceasefire it plays into what the state has been saying all along. Can't risk being wrong though... 🙄
