I even prefer Photopea despite half the working area wasted on ads and browser UI. Maybe that'll change one day. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] minyakcurry@monyet.cc 6 points 2 years ago (1 child) Every single time Adobe is mentioned, everyone rushes to mention GIMP. I'm convinced 90% of them have never even opened GIMP before. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) Because ten years ago GIMP was a good alternative to whatever version of Photoshop was out at the time. So those people ditched PS and used GIMP. But now Adobe has pumped tons of features into PS that the GIMP crowd doesn't even know about, so they still think the two are still comparable. I still use GIMP exclusively but I'd be lying if I said watching others use Photoshop didn't make me jealous. permalink fedilink source parent [–] deaf_fish@lemm.ee 1 point 2 years ago (1 child) This makes me sad. I usually only use GIMP for programmer art. I didn't realize it was falling behind 😞 permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] merthyr1831@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago If it works for you that's great! it's sadly just not the photoshop contender it used to be 😮💨 permalink fedilink source parent [–] Surp@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago Paint.net I like still! permalink fedilink source parent [–] dylanTheDeveloper@lemmy.world 0 points 2 years ago And if your like me and need Substance you can buy a perpetual licence on Steam permalink fedilink source parent
