Definitely hitting the priorities right on the head here. These are definitely needed and what we should be prioritizing! (Said nobody ever)

One year to election day. Start your engines. The race for sanity begins now.

I would not hold my breath. Albertans seem determined to vote against their interests at every turn.

They want you to believe there's no hope. Look at the referendum results. Even the (badly worded and misleading) questions that Alberta voted in ways that hurt our province, the outcome was close, even in most of the most backwards and disconnected rural counties. Nearly half the province, doesn't want this. Yes, half our neighbours are clearly insane. Half aren't. We were 4 ridings from having an NDP government last Election, and people were a lot less angry at the UCP then. I know how easy it is to see only obstacles, but you still have neighbours who are willing to stand with you and support you. We're just struggling to connect and be heard because the powers that be are using every dirty trick in the book to keep us divided and alone.

There. Is. Hope. Smith et al. win when we stop believing that. Canada means community. Like literally, that's approximately the literal translation. We can do this if we work together. That's what it means to be Canadian.

I would agree with you, but you haven’t met my neighbours.

You don’t need to worry about me, but at the same time I won’t exactly be holding my breath. Not just yet anyways. The thing is about the NDP, is the UCP will swoop in the week before the election, and they won’t have an answer for it. Just like last time. How people keep buying their bullshit, I just can’t even.

Far too many people in Alberta think "woke mind virus" is a real thing, west is under attack from muslims and trans people are forcing life changing medical interventions on all children.

They are the type who think public executions should be brought back.

Of course the entire province isn't like that. But there are far too many crazies and bigots in Alberta. Alberta also imports lots of crazies and bigots from other provinces. Oil patch is full of them.

UCP winning again won't shock me one bit. Especially when NDP got a brown muslim dude as their leader. It's great that the party itself is mature enough to elect him. Rural voters in Alberta aren't.

You're not wrong about the imported hate. I'm old enough to remember when the population doubled 20 years ago in less than 5 years. A lot of the people who washed out of polite society in other provinces picked up a shovel and headed here. A lot of "dyed in the wool Albertans" are actually just other provinces trash taking themselves out, and we ended up their landfill.

I still believe there's enough people to win. Even in the small towns, there's a lot more of us than there looks like, we just don't go around broadcasting it because the right tends to resort to violence and vandalism.

Ironic how they always go on about crime and drugs while their own people are shooting meth and assaulting people.
