I do it because I'd want 3-4 fries at most and it's a waste to get an entire order of fries for that.

    you are an exception, I think.

    in my experience, people want like half the order

    which is often fine, because some places give you way too many potatoes

    You try them and then you want more sometimes but it's unreasonable to take more when you're sharing with someone else. If you treat your husband that way, he may think you have no respect for him and for me, personally, that would be devastating. Most people don't think about that and they should.
