Do we really want that smarmy insufferable no talent shrew to be press secretary insider for 3.7 hours before being fired by a tangerine incel and his crooked brain V Chip?

Some of these comments are bordering just as mysoginist as trump, just with different politics. Way to go, Lemmy.

Lemmy does have a serious misogynist problem. It's a male dominated space with a lot of users from other, already misogynistic places, which creates a heavy concentration of it.

A lot of the misogyny isn't acted upon, either, because mods and admins here sometimes share the same views. It's no wonder women don't feel comfortable here. The few that do stay, such as Velma, have to constantly battle misogyny. It's fucking gross.

Absolutely. It's just interesting how a lot of people here can call themselves leftists and in the same breath say something misogynistic and get away with it.

They're ignorant. Its hard to wrap your head around without going to college or having an educated person leading. no one grew up with it being an okay thing to talk about, and they've fucked the last decades generation of men's heads hard-core.

I don't go looking for misogyny any more than I go looking for offense in general, but the thing I see in discussions about age and sex is the notion that women have no agency if an older and/or rich man comes on to them. They're talked about like helpless little puppies that have to be kept in the yard or they'll get run over.

Reminder that much of Lemmy is people who failed to fit in elsewhere or got banned for being who they are. For few months now I actually see Lemmy as more toxic community than reddit.
