Woah, this maybe a good way of contributing what seems to be a skill I have. Not trying to brag but as a 33 year old skidmark on the national economy, I am currently batting 1000 on job interviews over my life. I have multiple times just quit a job on the spot and had a new one before weeks end. I'm not sure why, or how, but I have never been interviewed and not offered the job. Mind, none of them have required "skills" or "education" beyond what I've picked up along the way, they could be called entry level jobs but I've never really seen a path upward in any of the companies, doesn't seem to work like that anymore. Just jobs, ~$40k a year usually with benefits. I have always had a hard time understanding why people who "can't find work" don't just take a job that's available while they look for the perfect one. Spoiler, I have never found a perfect job, aside from working for myself.

I'll pick up on one piece, humbling ourselves to take a job we see as below us is hard. I've done it before and it was a huge ego hit. A friend who's been unemployed for over a year is facing that now. It's not an easy path.

And some income is often better than none.

Because often, if they can even get it, the "job thats available" is so physically/mentally demanding that job searching while you have the job is untenable. They often dont give leeway for job interviews, so even trying is risking your only source of support for the vague chance of something that might be better.
