Honestly though, I searched for at least 6 months before my brother in law was like "I might be able to recommend you to a guy I know at a company I used to work at" and within the month I was hired.

Wait... How do I get a job at a furry convention? And is that job "full-time pet?" 🤔
I've found that having an opinion helps in job applications, from personal experience. There's so much AI garbage being thrown around in terms of job applications, so if you can throw in an actual opinion about something, especially if it's tech related, then that might at least stand out.
Gonna be trying furry convention next month
Congrats on your new job in Quantico?
Whos Quantico?
Ah this place where careers go to die. But they love animals there.
Yeah, I'm sorry I don't really know the reference. It seems to be a TV series or a town in the US
Becoming a furry just to get in a line of work is like changing religion for the community support
Let me know how that goes.
Is there an Intro to Furry Guide and a FAQ?
Are there classes I can take to get Furry Certified?
Do I need to engage in sexual activity which doesn’t align with my current non-furry orientation?
Furries are typically nonsexual. It's more often than not just roleplay for autistics.
Source, autistic furry who doesn't want to fuck in the extremely expensive fursuit
It's a one question quiz, actually:
Do you want to be a furry? Yes or no?
If yes, congrats! You're now a furry.
I'm actually an asexual furry. So no, you don't have to engage in any sex at all. I like the aesthetic and I've met a bunch of my friends through the fandom as a shared point of commonality.
Probably the biggest question you'll get asked as a new furry is "what is your fursona?" If you say you don't have one, everyone will make a pitch to try to sell you on theirs. (psst Maned wolves are cool.)
For a more in depth explanation, take a look at furscience. They're an actual research institution studying the fandom.
Same...maybe then i find a job again lol
I found joining a job search counsel via the book never search alone to be helpful. You didn't have to read the book first because reading the book is part of the JSC.
Might be worth your time looking into it.
Im looking for work and trying to understand what you said.
Here: https://www.neversearchalone.org/jsc
I would also recommend the book Take the Work Out of Networking.
I've talked to several recruiters, and outside of entry level positions none of them are interviewing anyone who doesn't have a referral because there are so many referrals they find enough qualified candidates before they get to the non-referrals. That's a product of just how bad the job market is.
I'm about to post two jobs myself with a total comp of ~$180k and I already have enough referrals that I won't interview anyone that isn't a referral. And the posting isn't even up yet.
The JSC via Never Search Alone paired with Take the Work Out of Networking has all the skills and advice needed to navigate the current job market as successfully as possible.
I wish you all the best, and am happy to answer as many questions as I can if you'd like.
