sychronization has no effect on the accuracy or damage of black powder, it's just desirable as a scary shock. arrows are the same, even if they have a higher 'base' accuracy, it's better to have a heap of arrows coming into a formation at once over grains in to shock the enemy and give them a harder time avoiding/blocking them.
