Glad I got my measles booster last year.

Doctors often give pregnant women a booster but any adult that was born before they started giving kids 2 shots of the measles vaccine is eligible for the modern vaccine regardless of how old you are. I forgot what year they started doing the 2 dose but it was sometime in the mid 1990's I believe.

The theory is the older vaccine for measles that many got prior to that wasn't so good. It also wears off over the years which is one reason they give pregnant women it (they usually test your bodies reaction first to see if you need it but its such a cheap and easy vaccine that many doctors will just give you a booster instead.)

i had my tdap last year. flu and covid was done this year. people have to get TDAP EVERY 10 years.

chickenpox is a little different though, not 100% protection, it does protect against symptoms of chickenpox but does not prevent infection(people still got shingles later in life.

older people and children can get the new rsv vaccine.

For anyone in the US who needed to know:

    • If you were born before 1957, you are presumed immune because measles was so prevalent.

    • If you were vaccinated before 1967, you should definitely get a booster (the original vaccine wasn't as strong as the later vaccine).

    • If you were vaccinated between 1967 and 1989, you should consider a booster: they believed you only needed one shot, but you actually needed two.

    • If you were vaccinated after 1989, you are considered fully vaccinated.

You can get tested. I did and my titers were too low, so I got a new MMR vaccine.

Yes, I requested a test and I'm glad I did. I had no immunity and got the full schedule (two shots).

It was the second-most painful shot I've ever had, exceeded only by Shingrix for shingles. But I'd take both of those vaccines again any day to prevent what they prevent.
