I'd be nice if supporters got a little badge or something. But, maybe that's not the Fediverse way.

    Yeah, I know, I know.

    I think of it as a way to prompt others to donate. "I donated, and you can too!", sort of thing. Like wearing an "I voted" sticker on election day.

    Unless just doing a sticky once in a while does the job, I suppose.

    Well my point is that it just seems that rewarding giving money seems to go against the intention of the Fediverse.

    People giving money because they want the social clout/status symbol, versus people that give because they want something cool to succeed. Y'know?

    Yeah, but fuck that. As long as you keep it small and near maintenance fees, it's fine.

    Too many people react to one extreme with the opposite extreme.

    Reddit gold was also a fine way to support Reddit, back when it deserved more support. Before they got greedy.
