Hey everyone, I’m a beatmaker from Japan. Just wanted to share a new beat I’ve been working on lately. I tried blending a gentle Bossa Nova vibe with classic Boom Bap, and I’d really appreciate any thoughts or feedback you might have.

I hope you enjoy the chorus, I put a lot of heart into it.

I snapped that cover photo myself at Tennoji Zoo here in Japan.

That's great to hear. I lived through the mid-late 2000s on a diet of Ninja Tune and Bill Laswell, and it's nice to see someone familiar with either of them. Also, I assume you know about Wagon Christ's alternative identity, which was to spur Aphex Twin to switch from ambient to drill'n'bass of 'Richard D. James Album'.

Those eras had such a rich soundscape. Bill Laswell is an absolute legend, so it's super cool to connect with someone who appreciates his work as well. And yes, Luke Vibert's influence on Aphex Twin and that whole drill'n'bass shift is fascinating history. The way those producers pushed boundaries back then is a constant inspiration for me.
