simpsons, they are milking a dead horse to the point its just ahusk. thats what became of SUpernatural too, shouldve ended in season 5, they just milked it with gay fanfiction for another 10 seasons.

    I just finished the first episode of Supernatural last night. At least now I know to stop after season 5

    Don't do that to yourself. Season 5 is the original show runner's intended ending. It goes for 15 seasons and a lot of it's flawed charm comes later. Like Futurama, everyone has their decided ending for supernatural. Mine is after season 11.

    It's a personal take, but I think that when it stops taking itself as seriously it becomes more fun to watch.

    The first 2 episodes were pretty mid. I assume it greatly improves?

    It improves. I'm not the best salesman for it. Most honest fans will tell you the show is flawed. It's monster of the week for most of season 1 and starts getting interesting around season 3.

    Season 4-5 are considered the best. Season 7 it starts dunking on itself and it's premise, and becomes more cheesy but with a lot of found-family/parental trauma motifs (everyone in supernatural has beef with their family.)
