Ignoring the mtg element but it's so fucking frustrating that obvious kayfabe like this works so well. The ruling class is so good at making up/using this kind of bs to just fill the entire news cycle and get people scared and riled up so they don't think about the real source of their problems. The fascists get to hold the flashlight under their chin & fearmonger (so they don't have to talk about making positive material improvements to their supporters lives) and the lite fascists get to hand wring and whine about the fascists being obvious with their racism (so they don't have to talk about making positive material improvements in their supporters lives) while both hound and suppress anyone one degree to the left of centre
