I assume it originally started with (or trying to mimic the style of) actual dosages like on legitimate medicine, but just turned into a unitless one-upping game with the claim "anything higher is a kie."

So it's 6000. 6000 what? It's like saying you're taking 83,000,000... nanogrammes of aspirin.
