Oh yeah, that is what killed the joy for me...All the dark patterns (when those despicable patterns could be smote by end users) were bearable for a time. But when it became difficult to even do that for my computer because Microslop decided to change defaults every other update or so...I was done when Recall was first announced. Got whatever the latest version of Ubuntu installed on my Desktop and eventually ended up using Garuda Linux (currently switched to GNOME Desktop). I am pretty much just using open source whenever possible and only using closed when there is no other choice or if my exit hatch from said closed source provider hasn't yet been secured.

I love the peace that Linux provides, I have learned to not summon the machine imps through my bad decisions and am far more careful with my PC tinkering that I haven't caused myself any major problems in months. Fixing problems more and more tiny issues, getting back into my troubleshooting era that I thought had been lost to time. ROFL
