I just need to complain to people that get it.

How in the hell does W11 not have a basic text replacement function. You need to install powertoys if you want something that smartphones have been doing for ages. All I want is to type a few characters that automatically becomes my long work email. And Microsoft says fuck you if you want this for accessibility.

At least every day at work makes me appreciate Linux at home more.

Because nothing microsoft makes these days is being made for the users anymore.

On a machine from work I tried to adjust edge. I can make it open with a blank page (just set the start page to about:blank) , but it's impossible to make it open new tab's as blank page. You simply can not...... Not without an 3rd party extension.

    There is a convoluted non-extension method.

    1. Registry change. See here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployEdge/microsoft-edge-policies/newtabpagelocation

    2. That will be all you need if you're enrolled in a domain or mobile device management. If you're not you can fake being in a MDM environment via another registry change. See here for that: https://hitco.at/blog/apply-edge-policies-for-non-domain-joined-devices/

    Honestly user hostile behavior by MS here, but as with most things can be defeated one way or another if you're able to waste time on it.
